this morning sian’s rlv chat redirect stopped working altogether, and because it’s locked, they couldn’t do anything about it. to their own surprise, rather than just talk normally, they decided not to talk at all, only using their communications implant light for yes and no. a friend stepped in who was wearing an avatar charm, allowing sian to take over her voice and speak through that. both sian and their friend found this satisfying and fun and a little bit hot (don’t @ sian, ok), and sian thought, how wonderful secondlife is, that you can just do these fantastical things, that you can enter realms of telepathy and possession and so much else, and how consent – although there are some who try to circumvent that – is entirely central to everything. choosing not to break their restrictions was natural to sian, but it was their choice.
the chat redirect was ok the next time sian logged in. just as in the real world, turning it off and on again is a panacea.
