this is a headline from newsweek. it is actually pretty old – it comes from 2019 – but the exact talking point it references seems to be coming up daily at the moment.

d. the fear of trans people and the conflation of trans rights with transhumanism and postgender philosophy is entirely explicable – a lot of trans people are, after all, transeverything in outlook – but it is always framed in exactly the same rhetoric that a century ago people were using to talk about jews (and to be fair, are still using to talk about jews). it is a common fascist trick to fool everyday people into believing that the enemy controlling the wheels of some faceless secret government are in fact some of the most marginalised and oppressed parts of our society. it is a deflection, a way to hide the real enemies of the people – the elons, jeffs and ruperts who hoard the wealth of the world and make mealy mouthed excuses as to why they might not use their vast financial influence for betterment. no, far easier to tell everyone that the people with no power have all the power.
this is of course how you get death camps. are trans people going to be herded into ovens the way that jews were in nazi germany? who knows? well they actually were – remember the holocaust swept up roma, dissidents and queers along with its primary targets. the pushback against efforts to ban “conversion therapies” is chilling: literal prison camps for queers have existed for years, places where they are psychologically tortured and brainwashed into somehow being cishet.
no wonder we want to destroy gender norms. we are at war.
e. no, idiot, the only people who really want do that are silicon valley billionaires who can’t get humans to experiment on so they just hack apart the brains of monkeys, leaving the animals to face a slow and agonising death. can you imagine anyone really putting a chip in their head?
